Michael Bento is an accomplished strategic marketing executive, with a track record of results in a variety of organization focused on conservation, education, and public health.
Mike has consulted with major for profit and non-profit organizations including the Association of Zoos and Aquariums, Perfect Health Inc., National Audubon Society, the Nature Conservancy, the National Parks Conservation Association, the National Park Service, the State of Montana, and many others.
Most recently, Mike was the Executive Vice President for Marketing and Communication at Communities In Schools, the nation’s largest dropout prevention organization with operations in 26 states and the District of Columbia. In that role, he completed a comprehensive rebranding of the CIS network, launched a cause marketing program that generated more than $1 million a year in unrestricted revenue, secured major national media placements, and strengthened CIS social and digital efforts.
Previously Mike was the Senior Vice President at the National Park Foundation, overseeing all corporate and consumer marketing programs and channels. For thirteen years, Mike was a Senior Vice President at Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide, directing the agency’s work on behalf of Miller Brewing Company, Pfizer, Nestle, and the U.S Centers for Disease Control among others.
Mike has a B.A in Philosophy from Georgetown University, and has performed graduate work in philosophy at Georgetown. He has served on the Boards of the AIDS Action Foundation and the NAMES Project of the National Capitol Area, and currently serves as President of the Board of Food & Friends, a Washington DC based non-profit providing home delivered meals to people living with AIDS, cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.
