Maya Noronha is a 2005 graduate of the College and a 2011 graduate of the Law Center. She currently is an election attorney at Baker & Hostetler LLP, where she works on redistricting litigation, campaign finance compliance, and voting rights law. She credits her 7 years at Georgetown with developing contacts that have been very influential to her career. While at the College, she took advantage of the Capitol Hill Internship program to work in the United States Senate for the then-Chairman of the Senate Republican Conference. The adjunct government professor who taught that Capitol Hill internship seminar recommended her to his colleague in the executive branch, and as a result, she served as a speechwriting intern in the George W. Bush White House during the second semester of her senior year.

She was accepted to the Law Center in her junior year through Georgetown’s early admission program, which waived the requirement to take the LSAT. She was first hired to work on election law by another Hoya who had taken the same election law class with a Law Center professor. The first intern (and best intern of all!) she hired to work on election law was a law student at Georgetown. Today, she even works on political law at a law firm with her law school classmate. She serves on the board of the John Carroll Society, an organization of D.C. Catholic professionals, which counts among its leadership several Hoyas, including Jack DeGioia.
